Changing Your Email Password

Updated 4 July 20262 views1 min read

Need to change a mailbox password? Maybe someone's forgotten theirs, a staff member has left, or you just want a fresh one. There are two easy ways to do it.

Option 1 — From the hosting control panel (account holder)

If you manage the hosting account, you can set a new password for any mailbox:

  1. Log in to your Tech Temple account, go to Services, select your hosting service, and click Login to Panel.
  2. Select your website and open the Emails tab.
  3. Find the email address and open its Manage page.
  4. Enter a new password and save.

The change takes effect straight away — remember to update the password in any mail apps (phone, Outlook, Apple Mail) that use that mailbox, or they'll keep trying the old one and may get temporarily blocked.

Option 2 — From the webmail login page (mailbox user)

Anyone who knows the current password can change it themselves:

  1. Go to https://mail.yourdomain (replace with your own domain).
  2. Use the change password option on the login screen, or log in and change it in webmail's settings.

Tips for a good password

  • Longer is stronger — aim for 14+ characters. Three or four random words work well.
  • Don't reuse a password from another account.
  • If several people share a mailbox, change the password whenever someone no longer needs access.

If you're locked out entirely, open a support ticket from your account and we'll reset it for you.
