Activating your Google Workspace: step-by-step

Updated 4 July 20266 views3 min read

After you order Google Workspace from Tech Temple, Google runs its own activation and emails the setup links to your contact address. There are a few screens that aren't obvious the first time — this guide walks through every one.

Overview of what happens

  1. We provision your subscription and register your admin account admin@yourdomain.
  2. Google verifies your domain (we add the DNS record for you when we manage your DNS).
  3. Google emails you the activation links — from The Google Workspace Team (workspace-noreply@google.com). Check spam if you don't see them.

Step 1 — Create your admin password

Open the Google email "You've signed up for a Google product: What's next?" and click Create password. Choose your own password and sign in. (For security, Google — not Tech Temple — sets your final password.) Verify your email address if prompted.

Step 2 — Accept the Google Product Agreement

After you sign in you'll land on the Google Admin console (admin.google.com), and you'll be prompted to accept the Google Workspace Agreement / Terms. This is required — you can't use Google Workspace until you accept it. Tick to agree and continue.

If you don't see the prompt, open the Admin console in an incognito/private window and go to admin.google.com.

Step 3 — Accept reseller (partner) access

Because your Workspace is provided through Tech Temple's partner (Google Partner), the first time you open the Admin area you may see a second prompt asking you to approve your reseller's access to your account. This is normal — it lets your provider manage billing and support on your behalf. Approve it to continue.

Step 4 — Activate Gmail

On the Admin console home you'll see a yellow banner: "You haven't activated Gmail yet." You must Activate Gmail before you can create email addresses (e.g. you@yourdomain) and send/receive mail. Click Activate Gmail and follow the prompts — this switches your domain's mail delivery to Google. (If your domain's DNS is managed by Tech Temple, the required MX records are already in place.)

Step 5 — You're in: what the dashboard means

The Admin console home ("Manage Workspace") is your control centre. The tiles you'll use most:

  • Users → Add a user — create mailboxes / accounts for your team (name@yourdomain).
  • Billing — this shows your Google subscription, but you're billed by Tech Temple, not Google directly.
  • Groups — shared addresses like info@ or sales@.
  • The "Build a professional image / Add your logo" checklist is optional Google onboarding — safe to skip.

That's it — once Gmail is activated and you've added at least one user, your Google Workspace is live.

Common questions

  • I didn't get the Google email. Check spam (workspace-noreply@google.com). Make sure your service in Templo no longer shows "Pending domain verification" — if it does, the account isn't active at Google yet.
  • I lost my password. Use Google's own recovery at accounts.google.com for admin@yourdomain — the reset link goes to your contact email.
  • I'm billed by Google or Tech Temple? Tech Temple — ignore any "add a payment method" prompts inside Google Billing.
  • Still stuck? Open a support ticket and we'll help.
