Set up your email on iPhone or iPad
Updated 4 July 20265 views2 min read
This guide shows you how to add your Tech Temple email account to the Mail app on your iPhone or iPad, so you can send and receive mail on your device. It takes about two minutes.
Before you start
You'll need:
- Your full email address (for example, you@yourbusiness.com.au)
- Your mailbox password — the one set when the account was created
If you're not sure the password is right, check you can sign in to webmail first at https://mail.yourbusiness.com.au (using your own domain).
Your email settings
Your mail server is mail. followed by your own domain. Enter these when your device asks for them.
| Setting | Incoming mail (IMAP) | Outgoing mail (SMTP) |
|---|---|---|
| Server / host | mail.yourdomain.com | mail.yourdomain.com |
| Port | 993 | 465 |
| Security | SSL/TLS | SSL/TLS |
| Username | your full email address | your full email address |
| Password | your mailbox password | your mailbox password |
We recommend IMAP — it keeps your mail on the server so it stays in sync across your phone, computer and webmail.
Step 1 — Open Mail account settings
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps then Mail (on older iOS versions, tap Mail directly).
- Tap Mail Accounts then Add Account.
Step 2 — Choose "Other"
- Tap Other, then Add Mail Account.
- Enter your Name, Email (your full address), Password, and a Description (for example, "Work email").
- Tap Next.
Step 3 — Enter your server settings
- Make sure IMAP is selected at the top.
- Under Incoming Mail Server, enter:
- Host Name: mail.yourdomain.com
- Username: your full email address
- Password: your mailbox password
- Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), enter the same Host Name, Username and Password.
- Tap Next. Your device will verify the settings — this can take a moment.
Step 4 — Save
- Leave Mail switched on.
- Tap Save.
Open the Mail app and your inbox will start syncing.
Troubleshooting
- Won't connect / "cannot verify server identity": double-check the host is mail. + your domain, the ports are 993 (incoming) and 465 (outgoing), and SSL is on.
- "Username or password incorrect": your username is your full email address, not just the part before the @. Confirm the password by signing in to webmail at https://mail.yourdomain.com.
- Sending fails: go to Settings then Mail then Accounts then your account then Account then SMTP, open the server, and make sure it's On using port 465 with SSL (or try 587).
